Have you ever wanted to try cross country skiing, but don't know where to start? Hartley Nature Center is hosting several introduction to cross country skiing sessions throughout the 22-23 winter season. Designed with the novice in mind, participants will spend time getting familiar with the equipment, safety considerations & etiquette of skiing, before learning the basic skills needed to get you out on the trails. These lessons will consist of some classroom instruction, on-snow (on & off ski) training, and time on the ski trails. These lessons will focus on classic style cross country skiing only. Participants must be at least 12 years old (minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian) to participate and should feel comfortable spending extended periods of time exercising outside in potentially inclement weather. The cost is $15 for Hartley Members (discount applied in cart) and $25 for non-members. The price includes ski rental and lesson, but does not include the Great Minnesota Ski Pass, which is required to ski the trails of Hartley Park.
