Are you interested in learning classic style cross country skiing this winter? Hartley Nature Center's Classic Cross Country Skiing for Beginners class will teach you about the equipment, trail etiquette, and basic skills needed to ski the groomed classic ski trails of Hartley Park and beyond. This 3 hr lesson will consist of classroom time, indoor skills training, and outside skills practice. We’ll finish each lesson skiing on the beginner cross country ski trails in Hartley Park. This is a beginner level lesson, but cross country skiing can be a physically demanding activity (similar to running). Participants should have a moderate level of fitness, and enjoy spending time outside in the cold and snow. Plan to spend half our time inside, and half of it outside in the cold.

Age Requirement: Must be 15yrs old or older. Youth must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Cost: $40* (Includes ski equipment rental). If cost is a barrier to participation, please reach out to us via phone or email to ask about scholarship opportunities. Registration is limited to 8 participants, so sign up early! Registration does not include the Great MN Ski Pass which is required to ski in Hartley Park and will need to be purchased seperately.
